United Van Lines is the world’s largest household goods moving company with over 500 agents in the United States and Canada, and in other countries around the world. Kwick-Way Transportation is one of just over 100 agents that own the Van Line. Kwick-Way is linked electronically to United’s world headquarters through a custom IBM system providing an easy access to the national network. This state of the art communications system plays a key role in handling and coordinating moves throughout the country and provides instant information about order entries, booking reports, traffic scheduling, shipment tracking, estimates, billing and other important business functions.
Historically, Kwick-Way services over 90% of all shipments released to us with our own equipment and personnel. By doing so, we assure customers three critical elements required for safe, efficient transportation: equipment quality, driver experience and dispatch control. United’s policy allows Kwick-Way to self haul, at our discretion, any shipment moving up to 1500 miles. In the event an affiliate agency is needed for assistance, Kwick-Way would draw upon our experience within the United family to select an agent with standards of excellence similar to our own.
Your contact with Kwick-Way will be through your Regional Consultant and the Move Management Coordinator assigned to serve your company. Kwick-Way consists of several operating departments, including Customer Service, Sales and Marketing, Accounting and Operations. Operations also encompasses Safety, Maintenance, Training and Claims.
Our goal is to develop and maintain permanent relationships with our customers by providing outstanding service, move after move, with no exceptions. We pledge to find a way to get the job done to our customers’ satisfaction, no matter how great the challenge; to stand behind every service commitment; and to employ friendly, skilled, knowledgeable people who, in the event of a problem, will do whatever is necessary to make things right ... right away. In short, we are dedicated to proving, through our performance, Kwick-Way is the best professional mover in the world in the eyes of our most demanding critics - our customers.
Kwick-Way has achieved a reputation for specialization in this particular area of transportation. Computer systems, robotics and high-tech instrumentation are all a part of the weekly service routine of our team. Over the past decade these fragile, high value items have become a part of the rule rather than the exception. Training and expertise in this area should be a foremost consideration in selecting your mover.
There are no geographical restrictions. Kwick-Way can provide transportation services worldwide. Shipments serviced by over 1100 independently owned affiliates located in 125 nations around the globe can be coordinated through Kwick-Way.
Randy Durham would manage your account. He is an experienced business professional with over 15 years in Human Resources Management, and has maintained his professional accreditation with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). Randy also has over 5 years of National Account Sales Management experience with Kwick-Way Transportation Company. Randy has a firm understanding of what is important when the relocation of your employee is required, including the reduction of unnecessary expense and the elimination of service irregularities.
Kwick-Way Move Management Coordinators have centralized communication with each customer and are responsible for guiding each relocation to a satisfactory conclusion. This includes personalized follow up within 48 hours of delivery and assistance, if needed, in reporting and resolving a claim. Full-Value Protection provides that goods will be repaired, replaced with like items, or a cash settlement will be made for the current market replacement value regardless of the age of the item. Unlike other options, depreciation is not a factor in determining replacement value. Our in-house Claims Department will expedite claims of $500 or less within 30 days of receipt of properly documented forms. Kwick-Way has a record of delivering over 98% of our shipments with claims under $100. In fact, we deliver over 90% of our customers with no claim at all.
The responsibility of the Move Management Coordinator is to provide centralized communication with each customer in a warm, positive way. If circumstances prevent a meeting prior to the actual move, The MMC will mail pre-planning guides, brochures and requested videotapes from the Kwick-Way library. Your Regional Consultant and Move Management Coordinator will work together with each relocating individual, providing support and assistance through the conclusion of each move.
Toll free watts lines, cellular phones, fax machines and the internet expedite communication and coordination with customers, employees and associate agents. Several options exist concerning estimating procedures: Origin agents can efficiently be contacted through any of these means of communication to provide visual surveys. Many National Accounts prefer phone surveys by Kwick-Way to reduce the time involved on the employees and to keep one liaison in care, custody and control for the entire move. Kwick-Way is equipped for and experienced in all options and will make each available, as necessary.
The following three factors allow Kwick-Way a maximum degree of control when releasing shipments to affiliate agencies:
  • Kwick-Way is one of over 110 agents owning United Van Lines.
  • Kwick-Way is fortunate to have over 35 years of experience with the United family.
  • Kwick-Way is consistently a top 10% producer in quality and safety categories nationwide.
In summary, Kwick-Way has earned the respect of other agents as a result of our leadership position. Our experience allows us to have the relationships and knowledge to select an agent with similar standards of excellence to our own. When called upon throughout the years, Kwick-Way has provided quality assistance to others in the agency family. It is quite an advantage to be able to reap that which has been sown, therefore, Kwick-Way has the ability to provide a quality service on each relocation.
The Kwick-Way Operations Department plans and oversees each shipment from point of origin to destination. Their primary responsibility is to utilize all resources possible to meet the preferred pickup and delivery dates of each customer. The assurance of courteous, knowledgeable and efficient personnel throughout the move is equally as important.
The first consideration on any relocation will be the possibility for self haul. Doing so assures three critical elements required for safe, efficient transportation: equipment quality, driver experience dispatch control. Last year, of all the shipments released to Kwick-Way, 90% were moved with Kwick-Way trained personnel. This allowed us to record an on-time delivery record second to none. Not one delay claim was filed against Kwick-Way last year. On time deliveries will benefit your organization by significantly reducing the per diem expenses of the relocating family. Kwick-Way takes great pride in the fact that our owner-operators average 9 years experience with Kwick-Way and that these individuals are constantly undergoing continuing education to enhance their skills.
The approved bottom line discount per the current Household Goods Bureau Tariff will be itemized in a separate Transportation Agreement.
The Household Goods Bureau current Tariff is the guideline for accessorial costs as well. Rate schedules within this Tariff determine geographic base rates. The base rate will be discounted according to the Transportation Agreement.
Occasionally a relocation will involve the use of equipment not considered to be standard in the industry. Examples of this type of equipment are cranes, roll backs and fork lifts. Kwick-Way will lease this type of equipment on site when needed and is willing to operate on a cost plus 10% basis, providing third party invoices for verification.
Accessorial services, such as a stair carry, appliance servicing, extra pick-up or delivery or an excessive distance carry occasionally become necessary. Bulky article charges for riding mowers, satellite dishes, pianos, motorcycles, boats and trailers may also apply. All accessorial services qualify for the bottom line discount. Third party services contracted by Kwick-Way will be provided at cost on specialty items such as grandfather clocks, pool table servicing, gas appliances and maid service.
Storage of 180 days or less is considered short term and determined by an industry based tariff rate. Storage exceeding 180 days is considered permanent and is based on a vault/container charge. Rates will be determined and provided in advance of each move performed. The governing rates will be the Household Goods Carrier Bureau current Tariff.
Kwick-Way’s well maintained fleet of vans is organized for self-haul. We evaluate new contracts and volume projections quarterly, adding new units as necessary. Kwick-Way has the support of 6000 units in service throughout the United Van Lines agency network.
Our entire corporate philosophy centers around our national accounts. Approximately 98% of the moves generated last year were corporate related.
It is the desire of Kwick-Way Transportation to establish long term relationships, building trust and generating profits through customer loyalty and repeat business. Kwick-Way views this as a win-win-win opportunity for all involved.
First and foremost, our individual customers will win as they are served by one of the finest and most trusted moving firms in the United States. Second, our account will win as they are guaranteed the best service effort per dollar invested. Finally, Kwick-Way Transportation will win an opportunity to prove the value of our service.
